1 teaspoon | unsalted butter |
1 tablespoon | canola oil |
1 | onion, thinly sliced |
8 cups | green cabbage, sliced |
1 cup | Granny Smith apples, sliced |
2 tablespoons | lemon juice, freshly squeezed |
2 1/2 teaspoons | apple cider vinegar |
1/2 cup | raisins |
1 teaspoon | caraway seeds |
1/2 teaspoon | salt |
Freshly ground black pepper |
Heat oil in a large nonstick sauté pan over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
Add cabbage and onion, and cook until cabbage has softened slightly, about 10 minutes.
Stir in caraway seeds, salt, lemon juice, and vinegar.
Season with pepper.
Cook until cabbage and onion have almost wilted.
Stir in apples, raisins, and butter and serve.
